New cherries for Torr Lane

Another planting day done and what a glorious one it was!

On Friday we planted 6 cherry trees on Torr Lane, to replace mature ones which have died.

This is Plymouth Tree People's fourth planting scheme on Torr Lane and at this time of year is easy to see why the residents love their tree lined street - the blossom is just about opening and it looks lovely.

A big thank you to the Tree Wardens and residents who planted the trees and to Glendale who removed two stumps so we could replace them with new trees, and who removed some large branches from a dead tree, to make it safer for pedestrians and the new tree we planted nearby.

This project was made possible with funding and support from the Plymouth & South Devon Community Forest and funding has also been secured to keep them watered while they establish!
